Professional Fire Guard Services for Buildings and Properties

Security USA® provides trained fire guards for properties that need reliable fire watch coverage, emergency readiness, and safety-focused monitoring. Fire guards may be required when fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, standpipes, or other fire protection systems are offline, impaired, under maintenance, or not fully operational. FDNY describes F-01 as Citywide Fire Guard for Impairment, required when a fire protection system is out of service and a fire watch must be maintained.

FDNY Fire Guard Types and Certificate-Based Coverage

Security USA® can help provide fire guard coverage based on the property type, risk condition, and certificate requirements for the assignment. Different situations may require different types of fire guards or fire safety personnel, including F-01, F-02, F-03, F-04, F-80, and other related fire safety roles. FDNY lists these Certificate of Fitness categories separately, including F01 Citywide Fire Guard for Impairment, F02 Fire Guard for Shelters, F03 Indoor Place of Assembly Safety Personnel, F04 Temporary Indoor/Outdoor Place of Assembly Safety Personnel, and F80 Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm Systems in Homeless Shelters.

F-01 Citywide Fire Guard for Impairment: Fire guard coverage when a required fire protection system is out of service, including fire alarm, sprinkler, standpipe, or other system impairments.
F-02 Fire Guard for Shelters: Fire guard coverage for shelters when there is no sprinkler system or when the fire protection system is not working. NYC Business states that fire guards in shelters help remove fire hazards and assist people during drills and emergencies.
F-03 Indoor Place of Assembly Safety Personnel: Fire safety personnel for indoor assembly occupancies where crowd movement, public gathering conditions, exits, and emergency readiness require trained supervision.
F-04 Temporary Indoor/Outdoor Place of Assembly Safety Personnel: Fire safety personnel for temporary indoor or outdoor assembly spaces, events, performances, gatherings, and temporary venues.
F-80 Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm Systems in Homeless Shelters: Fire safety coordination for homeless shelters and qualifying occupancies that require oversight of fire safety and alarm systems. FDNY states that all homeless shelters require an individual holding the F-80 Certificate of Fitness.
F-60 Fire Guard for Torch Operations: Fire guard coverage for torch operations and hot work conditions where fire risk must be actively monitored. FDNY lists F60 as Fire Guard for Torch Operations.
Fire Watch Guards: Fire watch coverage when life safety systems are offline, impaired, under repair, or temporarily unavailable.
